With this new series, Francis Reddy not only takes time to live in the region he’s presenting, but gives himself all the time in the world so that the West Indies can live in him.

Chez les Antillais is a dream series for the increasing number of devotees to slow travel, and for those who have time to experience a different kind of travel.

Chez les Antillais is about discovery, exploration and encounters with West Indian people through their culture and daily life. And what better way to discover everyday living than to participate in it oneself?

Chez les Antillais is therefore a new kind of travel series, one where our explorer is allowed to take his time. Suitcase in hand, he’ll settle into the Islands in an apartment rented for the occasion. Viewers will follow Francis as he lives, and lets live, amidst the culture that surrounds him. And so Chez les Antillais is really about the time it takes to discover a people and a culture. It’s a series that’s defined not by the geographic borders of a country, but rather by the living cultural identities specific to each nation in this region.

Whether through art, music, dance, cuisine or artisanal crafts, or through his experience of family life, farming or industry, Francis Reddy experiences and samples it all, West Indian–style.

Chez les Antillais, a one-way ticket to the islands of the Antilles. A program with the desire to encounter a little-known people, in a region of the world often lauded, with reason, for its natural wonders, yet seldom for its residents. Thanks to the magic of personal contact, Francis will slowly reveal the greatest resource of the West Indies: its people. Welcome to the Islands!
